Well, I've now had two different room situations for MFF fall through on me now, so.. Go figure, a week before the con happens, I'm looking for a room.

So, this is my desperate plea, for a room in the main hotel, for MFF this year. It sucks that I have to resort to a LJ post, for this, but I'm more-or-less out of options, and am getting rather worried. I don't take up a lot of space, and I don't throw parties, drink, or smoke, so... No worries on any of that. I have absolutely NO problem sleeping on the floor... I just ._. Need a floor to sleep on.

So yeah... If anyone here has a room, or knows anyone with a room, or has a friend, that has a friend, and so on. I'm willing to room with strangers, I've done that plenty already, for other cons.

We've got another Bad Movie Night this Thursday! This time, I'm giddy ever since I got the old VCR hookd up and working again, so I'm gonna dig out some terrible old VHS tapes *blows the dust of them*

Got up, went to foot surgeon's office. That went OK, but afterward I was feeling weak and a little queasy. Went home, took a nap, and somehow in my sleep smashed my glasses. I haven't figured that one out yet, but they were smashed and twisted like I had stepped on them or something.. I must be sleepwalking. Not too surprising, considering all the med I have to take. Anyhow, had to cancel an afternoon appointment and run out to the mall to order replacement glasses -- they wont be here until after MFF. Got the old pair put back together enough that they are wearable, and hopefully will last until the new set is done. More unexpected expense... Grrr...

Not much else going on. Possible local furry get-together this weekend, if my health holds out. And I have to figure out how to get to the hotel from the airport next week. hmmmm...

this is getting rediculous, I'm so fuckin excited for portfolio day that I've started sketching people out in my classes and practicing humanish faces and stuff

all these ideas are running through my head on how I should pretty up some of my finished digital works for printing so that it also shows my sketching process. etc etc.

my High School 'Power Period" right now is portrait drawing. I try to show the teacher the gesture drawing I did of a classmate. she just tries to end our conversation as quickly as possible and doesn't seem very sincere when saying 'good job', I feel so broken about that.
I thought teachers were supposed to be encouraging? did I draw it wrong...?

Okay. Originally I'd planned to take the train to Milwaukee and ride with a friend from there to the hotel- due to disasters (cashflow and car-failure), That plan went south. I've changed my train itinerary and now I'm ariving Wednesday at the Glenfield, IL Amtrak Depot at around 3:12 PM. Is there anyone who can give me a lift to the hotel? I know a taxi or the Metra would be options, but the Metra ride is bizarre and convoluted, and over 2 hours! Its only 20 miles driving distance. I'll pay gas money- let me know. Thanks! I'll need a ride back to the station on Monday too, but I'm more worried about getting there in the first place. :)

Hey you guys!! Only one day left on this lovely mouse partial and its still at $250!!!!! What a bargin for the quaitly of work! Its a static jaw head that is built on a redhead balclava that has anti-baterial odor eater built into it! How awesome is that!!! It has amazing vision thru the tearduct and you can easily breath, drink, and eat with the head on. YAY!!! It can fit anyone with a circumference of 22" and below. It could fit a 23", but it might squish your nose a bit. The eyes are made of acrylic resin that gives ot a gorgeous follow me eye effect. Dont let this mouse slip through your paws!!!! Greetings people of the internet (or those who still read my journal).

I am currently in Charlotte, NC. My friend Robert has been a lovely host and culinary connoisseur during my visit.

At the moment, I've been scoping out the area and doing a bit of job hunting. It's been going so-so so far, but I have made a number of phone calls and a few interviews since visiting. My last one will be at 2PM. I will either be returning back to Richmond late this evening, or 9AM in the morning depending upon how awake/tired I am tonight.

I'm going to go reeducate myself on mens shirt and coat measurement taking before my 2PM interview. I also need to contact an interior design shop when I get back (the business card is at home).

When I get back I will be a bit occupied. After MFF, whether I move or not I will probably start boxing up some of my things and getting rid of anything that I don't need to take with me elsewhere or need in general. I'll post about that when time gets closer.

I really want some order back in my daily life again. I may be a bit quieter than I normally am at MFF. I will try to be my normal self at the panels.

Got more marching orders on travel. Here is my travel schedule (hopefully the last) for the rest of 2009:

Number Five: There's A Lot of Stuff Near The Westin!

Now, we're not going to kid you: Wheeling, Illinois is a suburb of Chicago, and suburbs aren't generally known for having everything you immediately need right next door. The good news is that you can find most everything you need within the radius of a 20-minute walk: Starbucks, McDonald's, Walgreens Pharmacy, convenience stores, and even Mi Mexico, one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area. And that's in addition to the cluster of restaurants right in and around the Westin! (We'll be talking more in depth about restaurants in a few days.)
